Getting a bit uncomfortable
This site is not making reading comfortable lately. Not saying the mods/admin aren't doing their jobs. (They must be working their bums off just lately)
Sorry, but it has to be said that new members seem to be joining to stir crap!!
Please, let us all be in it for the animals. Any problems with other members take it to pm or admin/mods etc.
This is a fantastic place to get things done, transport runs, home visits etc. Let's not spoil that with petty bickering.
Just my take on things.

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Good point - but if we ignore the pettiness and get on with the work we all do, then they will just get bored.
Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Totally agree with you after reading some threads.
we are all here to help where we can. why is that being spoilt.
The majority of people who join do a fantastic job & RHU is sucesful in what it was set up to do, help animals.

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
agreed and remember less bickering = more urgent threads being helped so the people who do bickering etc are only spoiling it for the animals too
Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Exactly, so come on folks. Let's get with it again and buggar the trouble makers.

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
I'm with you Kazz, the atmosphere has changed here lately I'm trying to steer clear of any controversy and hoping it settles soon and we can just get back to working as a team again
to admin & mods, I don't envy your 'job' at the moment!

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Hey folks, I agree, but am a little concerned. I know my social skills are not the best in the world - so please - if I think I am exploring a subject to find out what should be done - and you think it's bickering - give me a freindly pm to ask me to button it code red is that OK? Some subjects are important though. Like policy and procedure.
I don't want to cause trouble, and never set out to.
(ps We know you mean trouble makers, not all new members)

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Diane,
Please do not think I was referring to you. Hey, I know your spelling isn't the best in the world, but that isn't what matters hunny.
All I was saying is that we are all on the same side here, for the animals.

Excuse me but just which "trouble makers" are you referring to?
Just because somebody posts legitimate concerns about proceedures which are used to keep people and animals safe.... proceedures which used to be part of the normal running of this forum.... this should not mean they be immediately classed as troublemakers.
Methinks this board is getting very close to being like somewhere else I used to frequent where constructive debate was classified as troublemaking just because people weren't all singing to the same hymnsheet as the owners/mods of the board.

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Can't speak for anyone on the team but healthy debate is great as long as it stays on topic and doesn't make anyone feel uncomfortable which unfortunately a few threads have just recently
This is not aimed at anyone in particular neither trouble makers or opinion givers

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
I dont think the finger was being pointed at anyone in particular. Usually the OP starts a thread as a matter of interest and then it's those who reply that take it off course and it end up a slanging match rather than a discussion on how to better our procedures. Everyone s entitled to an opinion, of course, but some people do not respect other peoples opinions and that's where the problem lies. It'd be a boring old world if we all thought in the same way about everything.

Sorry if I have caused any ill feelings. Was not my intention as I enjoy coming here.
Totally agree with the bolded bit though. Hope it really does not go down the same route!!
Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
Thanks for explaining Zoe it's a nice thing to let us know it will be opened again when sufficient monitoring can take place.
I think most of us know when something we type is going to be inflamatory or not. If it is - either find a different way of saying it, or qualify it by saying your not speaking of anyone in particular, or not saying right from wrong. We are adult enough to discuss differences without getting persoanl aren't we? I'd heard a rumour that one rescue did not have a non destruct policy. So I PM'd and asked teh question. I asked politly, explaining I wasn't judging. I got a lovely answer and the rescue confirmed they did not PTS unless an ailment was so severe the vet recommended it. I could have gone off guns blazing and mouth in freefall accusing them of being a rescue I would perhaps rather not deal with. But I approached it with respect and found the rumours unfounded. No one hurt and a dog will now benefit.
I know life isnt always that easy, but we can all try to make it easier can't we? Just by the way in which we approach things that we feel unhappy about?

Re: Getting a bit uncomfortable
ninety plus percent of the time threads have to be locked or removed because people get personal or start naming names if everyone stuck to just healthy debate without doing this then this wouldnt need to happen RHU cannot be seen to be allowing slanderous comments on their forum and to be fair who wants to read a slanging match?
Also sometimes a post has simply been moved but because it wasnt were it was last seen it is assumed it has been removed or deleted.
